Use one comparison sheet
Make a row for each agreed removal item. Add separate rows for protection, debris handling, collection, specialist coordination and the condition of the space at handoff. Mark each quote as included, excluded, conditional or unanswered. A blank is not an inclusion.
Use the same drawings and photographs for every contractor. If one assessment reveals a new condition, share that information with all parties still preparing a quote. Otherwise, you are comparing different assumptions rather than different proposals.
Clarify the edges of the price
Ask whether the quotation assumes clear access, empty rooms, confirmed material information or completed service disconnections. Ask what happens if an assumption is wrong and how a change would be agreed. Keep optional work separate so it cannot be confused with the base scope.
Ontario’s consumer guidance discusses written estimates and contracts. Use that guidance to review the agreement, and seek appropriate advice for contractual questions. This comparison exercise does not establish that a contractor is suitable or that its terms meet your needs.
Record the chosen version
Once questions are answered, keep the final scope, drawing revisions and quotation together. Record which earlier versions are replaced. If you ask YAK to assess the project, send the scope you want priced and explain the endpoint you need, rather than asking it to match an unexplained total.
